View original topic: Eriba Puck Camper information

Hi Everyone,
I have taken a liking to these small German made tow behind trailers from the late 60's. I think they are really cool and they are small enough to tow with my bug.
Can anyone provide me with some information on these? I have searched the classifieds etc, and got some info and pictures but I was wondering about websites, etc that discuss them.

Thanks
Paul

There is a ton of information on the web. Google "Eriba" and you will have all the information you need. Here is a start: http://www.eribaforum.co.uk/

They are still being made in basically the same form today, even though the brand name is Eriba they are made by the Hymer group, which is a very large German lesiure-vehicle company.
There are various size versions, from the Puck (smallest) up to the Troll which is the largest.
They were German-made until approx 1970 but since then have been made in France.
They last well due to their steel space-frame construction and aluminium panels, I have a 1990 model and it is like new still.
There is a thriving club for them here in the UK, with regular meets.

These fantastic little caravans are big in the UK with bus owners 8)

We have a Eriba Familia, same size as a Pan, which sleeps 4 and a little bigger than the Puck. We are going to tow it behind our 67 split this summer, hopefully to tour around northern france this summer.

Check out www.bugpuck.be fantastic site and has all the info you will ever need on all the different models as well.

Enjoy..........

Its very difficult and expensive to find one of those familia's. I would sell my puck in a heartbeat to get a familia. Um.. how bout some pic's of yours???

There you go......some photos for you. These were taken by the PO and used in the ebay ad where I saw it and subsequently bought it.

It's a 1964 model, and in pretty good shape for the year. The exterior panels have a few minor dinks in them but the interior is excellent.

I just plan to give it a really good clean, re-upholster the seats, refurbish the towbar etc and make up some curtains to match my bus 8) The red plastic trim in the edging strip on the outside can still be bought by the metre from Germany so I intend to replace all of that and re-polish the ali trim.

It's a great design as despite it's compact size it sleeps 4, although realistically the two single 'beds' are more suited to kids. The double bed to the left of the door is more than adequate for two adults.

The second single is in fact a bunk which fits into wall brackets that are attached to the walls above the single table/bed to the right of the door.

It weighs 500kg so can be moved around easily by one person and is a doddle to tow.

Hope you like it......

Just a litte information if you wanna buy a Eriba.
Looking for Wet Areas in the Camper. The Eriba is build on a Steelframe with many wood parts. The Steel rust down with the years and the wood rotten down. You cant look under the body but you can look inside the Camper if the wall spottet.
