Hello from France...
I am looking for a "potentiometre" for my old Frankfurt autoradio. It's very difficult to find!
If you can help me... let me know!
Best wishes! Olivier |

Try Matthias at this website:

I don't know if he sells parts, but he restores old radios including Frankfurts. I have one from him and it works beautifully. |

If Matthias doesn't have it, you can try:
Holger Kleinschmidt:

or
RAINER KÖNIGS:

Good luck! |

I too have a Frankfurt from Mathias - I've just received it in fact. It comes with two L-shaped metal brackets which sit over the control posts just behind the faceplate. When installing the radio, do I place the L brackets behind the dash or in front? At the moment I have the radio installed with the following sequence, but something looks wrong! From the front, the ivory knobs, then round silver spacers, then a hex nut which tightens the L bracket to the metal dash, then the dash itself, then the radio. Any suggestions would be gratefully received! |

If you look in the upper right of this picture of my Frankfurt, you'll see that there is a plate that goes on the inside of the dash. This bolts to the outside faceplate of the Frankfurt via two screw studs on the inside of the faceplate. The radio then fits through the two plates and is secured by the nuts on the knob shafts, as well as the strap on the back of the radio.

On the Frankfurt that I installed, on/off achieved by rotating left knob clockwise - it "clicks" on for power, and further rotation increases volume. |

supposed to be like that,we just turn the left knob clockwise, but it's not working on mine, I've tried the right circle knob (chrome one) but the same not working. I thought someone change the potentiometer. |

I'm pretty sure my Frankfurt turns on by pushing the left knob in. Pushing it in again turns it off. |

I have two Blaupunkt K all tube radios, chunky button both with the Blaupunkt art deco face plate. One will wind up in my 56 bug. While researching this year correct radio for my bug, I also obtained a Photofact Folder for it. Attached are three scans, the front sheet of the folder so you can see if this matches your radio, the back sheet showing a listing of controls and a portion of the schematic showing the switch on the volume control (left knob). Hope this helps.

I have owned over 300 early Blaupunkt Frankfurts. The '56-'57 date stamped models have the rotating potentiometer for on/off, the later Frankfurts (upto about 1970) have the 'push in' on/off potentiometer.
I have found over the years, some of the pots have been changed on radios for the 'rotating on/off' type.
Olivier, what year is your radio? Providing the serial number will idnetify this.

Finally I found the on/off switch of my radio, I put my left knob too deep so push on/off doesn't work. Rick. do you have the bracket for connecting between radio to power unit ? Thanks  |
