Gordon Wilkins, and Lawrence Pomeroy, British motoring journalists, at the launch of the VW Beetle at The 1939 Berlin Motor Show.
Pomeroy thought the car was outstanding but summed up his review in the feb '39 issue of 'the Motor' magazine with the words:-
the car may to some extent affect British exports...but so far as the British market is concerned our manufacturers may 'sleep quietly in their beds' |

IMHO, that ugly Borgward grill badge reminds me of current Acuras and Infinitis with their enormous grill badges. It really ruins the lines of an otherwise clean design. |
