Can anyone help me identify the carb i have taken off our lasses 1600 VW. It has no identification marks on.

Also it has a black thing wraped around the pipe below the car with wires attached to the coil is this some sort of pre heater? see pic

You might move those pictures to Photobucket for them to post here.

It has to have something on it, have you cleaned it yet? No numbers or stamped lettering anywhere? Try some carb cleaner on the outside of the carb body to eliminate some of the grime, it may be covering the info you're asking for.



The other thing looks something like an electric heater pad/shield.

Fixed it for you.
It's usually got a # around the base of the carb where the bolts go to mount it.

That's a Weber made in Brazil as a bolt on replacement for 34 Pict 3.

Flux capacitor for the other stuff? :lol: Maybe a PO went overboard on heat shielding?

Use search and find answers to this Q from last week. There are one or two stockists of kits for these.

thats an IMDU (inlet manifold deice unit)
think they come from big boyz toyz in the UK

just an electric heater jacket to stop manifold icing
