Before the $ was so weak, going north was a deal.
Been here?

I've used No. 1 Collision (Hannegan and Bakerview) on a couple of occasions and have been very, very impressed. I'm guessing they're pretty pricey (my occasions have been insurance claims) - but if you're looking for top notch results they'd be a good choice.
Good luck! |

Thanks, I'll get an estimate on the Vanagon, it's got zero rust. The 71 will need rust repair. I'll probably need to take up welding. |

VintageVulture doesn't come up on search. Did Ryan have a business name, website, email, etc.? |

He calls himself "Short's euro custom", I think I've seen some of his ads lately as "Team beer" |

Thought I'd add an update on Ryan's status. I just called the phone number listed above to get some work done. The number is still good, but his voicemail said he's closed his business and is now working at Stan's Auto Body in Bellingham. All inquiries to having Ryan do work must be funneled through Stan's front office which means the ultra high quality of work Ryan is supposed to do has been decoupled from the massive bang for your buck frequently referred when discussing Ryan's work. |

Yes, the bang for the buck is over. I burned up a lot of my youth giving good deals. I'm happier now just doing collision spot repair and saying NO to full resto paints on rust buckets. I'm only willing to charge what my work is worth on an old VW. Got tired of watching people make a ton off of my under valued labor. Motorcycles, now that's easy!! Maaco is there for most VWs |

Good for you.
The amount of work needed to save a rust bucket is highly under rated.
There is a thread with a paint job by a Maaco employee floating around here...the cost was north of $10,000 and that brought a :D to my face.
Good work cost $ :!: |

He's not an employee, he owns the franchise. And he does beautiful work. ;) |
