Hello, everybody!

This is my first post, and I hope everyone appreciates it! I've just stumbled across the Holy Grail of Glasurit Paint codes:

http://color-online.glasurit.com/

At this website, you just type the paint code you desire to obtain a formula of (i.e.: "L457" for the all-time most sought-after "Cadmium Red") on the first field up left and press the "Start Search" button. BINGO! You have just found your color!

Then you click on the color's name (middle field) and select your paint line in the bottom left field (usually formulas are for paint line 22 and 68, although you might find some line 55 paints occasionally) and then press the "Next" button on the bottom-right corner of the page. VOILÁ!! You have all the formulas to get that exact paint color!

Usually, you don't only get one formula, you can get many different base combination formulas that reproduce the exact same color!! L456 Ruby Red had 4 different mix-ups!! YAY!!!

Besides, you can enter your target value (in kilograms or liters) for how much paint you want to get, the page will automatically calculate how much of each base you need to mix (in grams) to obtain the exact amount of paint you specified... or, you can specify if you're dealing with a small, medium or large car, and then check the panels you intend to paint (i.e., one fender and one door) on the sample car that's on the side and the page actually calculates how much paint you need to paint that panel... and then, you can PRINT all the results!!!! Not only the formula for your target value, but also a comparative of different default target values, and the Cumulative Values of each base being added

Most codes are available in Glasurit line 22 base (AD2224)

Is this amazing or what??

It refers to the different basecoat systems. Line 90, for instance, is water-borne, while lines 22 and 55 are solvent-borne. It all depends on the color-system your paint shop offers. The formulas are different from one line to another, because the base colors used to achieve the desired tone are also different.

Here is the DoveBlue code and formula from AkzoNobel Sikkens. This is by far one of the best paints out there.
This is a 2 stage, so base and clear coat.
Is made from their autowave MM line, which is the latest ecofriendly waterborne paint. Let me know if you guys need other colors as I will be posting some of the popular ones soon.

AKZO code is FLNA50549

Here are the toner need it

098 41.2g
971 1.1g
575 12.3g
744 23.4g
Activator waterborne 29.2g
This formula gives you 0.10 liters, is what I use to make the spray out card in the picture.

Since it seems that LH9D Damuso White was only used in 1983 -84, I cannot find any way to match it and would like to get as close as I can. Does anyone know of a supplier of this original color? Scanners don't even seem to be able to get close! Thanks, Mark

Hi everyone,
after looking at my 71 ghia VIN number 1412436742
and thanks to the samba VIN decoder I realized that the factory paint Code for my ghia is #24.
I am looking all the technical data for a 71 and others and I can't find a factory code 24.
I will appreciate any help.
Regards,
AG

L-581 Wolkenweiss paint code BASF

I found what seems to be a good match for L471 stone beige.

It's from Dimension's D5 line (single stage urethane) and the color code is 50684. I'll post a pic once I get it sprayed on my wheels.

Have you guys seen this site?
http://colorexplorer.rmpaint.com

It works just like the Glasurit site at http://coloronline.glasurit.com, but brings up formulas for other RM/BASF paints -- the single stage urethane UNO line, most notably.

I couldn't find anyone local with Glasurit Line 22, but I did find a shop with UNO, so I got my L457 Cadmium Red for my wheels :-).

Here's a pic of one of my wheels in Stone Beige and Cadmium Red.

If you look closely at the chips on the ground, you'll see the beige one is split in half -- the left side was sprayed with the L471 Stone Beige interior paint from Wolfsburg West and the right side was sprayed with the D5 50684 that was color-matched. In the picture the right side looks lighter, but it's just because it's glossier.

In a paint color thread that I cannot seem to find now, someone asked if I could post the recipes for the paint codes that I had got from Sherwin-Williams Automotive. Here goes (and if anyone finds that thread again, please let me know). These are the values from the sticker on the can.

Base Paint: Dimension DM628

L65K Ravenna Green:
Code:
DM628 Base Paint 75.77 g
DM529 Clean Yel  70.89 g
DM528 Ferrite    16.63 g
DM504 Yellow G    3.29 g
DM522 Strong W    0.08 g

L64M Apple Green: (I think they struggled a bit with this one)
Code:
DM628 Base Paint 77.50 g
DM529 Clean Yel  52.43 g
DM505 Green      17.64 g
DM526 Red Yell   12.58 g
DM510 Blue        2.29 g
DM524 Dark Yel    1.91 g
DM504 Yellow G    0.95 g
DM500 Strong B    0.48 g
DM511 Blue Gre    0.48 g
DM522 Strong W    0.29 g

I believe that these are both in their system, as was Olympic Blue (the stripe color).

Chrome Yellow L20A
PPG 2687

I have a 1963 single cab - the exterior is L380 Turquoise and the interior appears to be Ivory? Would that be the same as the exterior Ivory L62? I found an aerosol for the green, any matches for the interior? Thank you.
