View original topic: Salvage Yards in VA and MD? Middle Bench Seat?
dliodoir Mon May 15, 2006 10:20 am

There was a post recently about a salvage yard in PG Co. MD that had some buses on the premises. I've looked everywhere for it but can't find it. Does anyone know the name, address?

Also, are there any other yards with buses within an hours drive of DC?

I'm STILL looking for a 2/3 middle bench seat for my 72. I've had a couple of offers from sellers outside the area but I'd hate to pay more in shipping than the seat is worth. I'm not too concerned about the color or condition as I plan on recovering it myself.

Thanks!

wolfsburg west sells them. brand new, just the frame and springs and then you can buy all the upholstery yourself. i forget how much, but it may be easier than getting one out of a junkyard and you wouldn't have to worry about small animals.

Are you sure about that? Do you have a part no.? I believe I was told in an earlier post that no one made new seat frames? I'm so confused!

Ok. . .I had seen that before BUT it says it's for buses through 67 and mine is a 72 AND it costs $300-something. It was a thought. . . . :D

So. . .anyone else?

You could try Dick's in Wye Mills, Rt. 213 off Rt. 50, just before Easton, Md....

There is a recent '73 station wagon in a junk yard North of Baltimore MD.

It seems it was a rolling advertisement for the 'Maryland's First Brew Pub' called Sisson's.

Sorry, I don't know if it has a middle seat, but it would cost at least $40 plus gas plus $2 x2 tolls plus $1 entry fee, so if the other Samba references don't work out, PM me for the location.

Dick's (new name is ????) Autohaus is definately a possibility.
