| Today I started my car and when I turned it own, a white smoke came out from the exhaust pipe. Is this normal? when the car is cold? |

If the temp is cold you could see a little white smoke or water vapor at the exhaust.Is it an aircooled beetle or water cooled newbeetle?
If it's watercooled and has a mechanical problem like a blow head gskt you could get coolant burning in the cylinder and it will smoke white out of the exhaust. Is it overheating or misfiring/runs rough?
Generally white smoke is coolant/water, blue is oil and black is fuel due to excess fuel like very rich mixture or misfire.

| When it is cold out, yes it is normal (most every car does it). It is condensation/moisture in the exhaust burning out of there. |

| My car does this too, and I have an aircooled Porsche, and it does it. No problem, just worry if it turns gray or black. |

when you say cold do you mean cold as in it has not been running ?you live in panama and i wonder how cold it is? 80*?
or is it 50* out side ? |

| my car just started doing this. HUGE white cloud. Its hot out... and my bug is a 70, air cooled :( |

| My car was doing this. I took apart the motor and found worn valve guides (all) and piston rings in the #4 cyl that was no good. |
