It's my understanding that John Muir's widow Eve is living in New Orleans. Any word on how she fared in the Huricanes and Floods?

Speaking of Eve Muir and John Muir Publications, anyone know if there is still a source for those cool VW T-Shirts that you could buy from the advertisement in the back of the "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive" book?
I have a 1979 edition (which I think was the 9th edition) that I bought in 1980 right after getting my first VW and it has the ad for the T-Shirts in the back. I think I remember flipping through a new copy in a bookstore in the late 1980's and they still had the ads. I just got a copy of the 19th edition (August 2001 - the one with a color front) - Amazon gave me a package deal when I bought some other VW books and it cost me less that $10 so I figured what the hell. The T-Shirt ads are no longer there and I suspect that "John Muir Publications" may exist in name only.
I always wanted to get a couple of these shirts. I think Peter Aschwanden who illustrated the books also did the designs. The artwork is very cool and humorous, done in that funky style that was popular in the late 60's early 70's. They actually are kinda retro old school cool now. Anyone know if there is someone who will sell these to you? |

i don't know what edition my copy is but it's fairly new and has the t-shirts.
i really like the exploded bug drawing. that must've been a bitch to draw. |

Eve Muir is listed as a survivor of Katrina, although location not listed at this time.
