I am anticipating ordering for the 1st time from Appletree.
Has anybody here dealt with them and what do you think of them

I bought a set of floor pans from them and they sent the wrong ones. I had a hell of time getting the owner(apparently the other countermen can't do anything without him) to return my calls. They eventually sent the right pans but it was a total pain in the ass. I had planned my vacation to get the pans done and I told them that when I 1st ordered them. Needless to say I didn't get them in time. |

ive bought from them before with no problem. but i ordered some exhaust valve guides a week ago and i called today because they didnt send a tracking number and i havnt seen them. they told me they were backordered and wouldnt come in to next week, and they didnt know why someone didnt contact me. now im still waiting to get my head done so i can put my engine together. :x |

I purchased an empi 3 lb. steel pulley that had so much runout(wobble) that it began to fray the edges of my new belt. It also was slinging oil. Put the stock one back on and no more problems. Called them about my "paperweight" and they credited me the full amount back on the card , no hassles. Thanks Mike! |

My dealings with them was mixed. I ordered several parts on March 17th and recieved almost everything within 2 weeks. I was told it would have been sooner when I called, but they were waiting on my brake kit that was backordered. They sent the rest of the parts out when the brake kit did not show up from the manufacturer(EMPI).
I called 2 times within the next few weeks and was told the brake kit would be going out next week. I recieved one phone call from them telling me the brake kit would be sent to them from the manufacturer on April 18th.
On April 28th I once again called to check on the brake kit and was told the manufacturer still had not sent them the kit. I asked for a refund and they said I should have my money back around May 3rd or 4th. [-o<
While I do not fault them for a manufacturer not delivering on the goods, I was a little dissapointed that I was not kept in the information loop a little better.
On the other hand, everytime I had contact on the phone they were overall polite and pleasant to deal with. While a little bummed about the brake kit, I found another one at a similar price elsewhere and it's NOT the cheap EMPI one I had ordered in the first place 8)
All things considered I will do business with them in the future, but I will definately make sure they have the parts in stock first.
EMPI - They screw you even when you don't use their parts :evil: |

Update
Appletree came thru with my refund as promised on the date promised 5-3-11. They also gave me my shipping costs back as well!! :D |

Thumbs up for Appletree customer service- had an issue with some parts ordered from them- Parts were new in the blister packs, EMPI of course!! called, whomever answered the phone immediately went out, grabbed what I needed, checked it personally, sent it out no cost to me all within 15 minutes- Can't beat that |

Another thumbs up, i recieved a master cylinder that was bad, yes it was an empi, but no questions asked sent me another one. |

I am brand new to vws and dunnebuggys bought what I thought was a ready to go complete kit from a private seller and quickly discovered I need a pile of stuff. Found appletree online and called them out of the blue!
Awesome experience spoke to Jay he gave me his email so I could send him pics of what I had. Very quick responses from a super knowledgeable guy! He did not try to sell me the moon but instead explained everything to me and spelled out all my options. I decided on what to buy as to my budget and they shipped free. 2 orders sofar with more to come ahead. Very happy thanks Jay and appletree well done!! :D

sells cheap EMPI parts. super slow shipping and lacking communication. I will not buy from them again. |

This my "go to" vendor. 4 out of 5 times my order is shipped same day. I'm always happy with the quality of my parts - I've never got anything I couldn't install and use.
