1965 convertible. Built in August of 1964. So it's one of the first 1965 models produced.
1170 is the gross vehicle weight in kilograms
The two numbers below that are gross weights for the front and rear axle _________________ 2015 VW Passat Wolfsburg Edition

Typ 15 -- it's a type 15, which is a convertible Beetle
Fahrgest Nr -- Chassis number or VIN 155 028 ###
The VIN starting with the '65 model year has the third digit denoting the model year, so a VIN starting with 155 would be a 1965, 156 would be a 1966, and so forth. Looking up the VIN on the chart in the technical tab on this site shows that your car is from the very first month of production for '65 models, and was therefor built in August of 1964.
As noted above, 1170 is the maximum gross vehicle weight in kilograms. Also the 480 and 700 would be the maximum front and rear axle weights, respectively, in kilograms. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |
