How many amps does the wiper motor on a 73 super beetle pull? |

I really don't know. But on my 1974 Super Beetle, my wiper, fresh air fan, and defroster are on the same 16 amp fuse.
I assume the defroster takes more amps than the other two devices. Also, VW surely assumed you'd be using all three at once in the winter.

When I was doing some electrical troubleshooting on the '65 I had an ammeter on the main power cable running up to the front of the car. When I turned on the wipers it added about 3A to the reading.
But that's on a 6v car which would be double the current for a device of equal power compared to a 12v car. So assuming the wiper motors are of equivalent power then maybe 1.5-2A while steady-state running?
I should add that I did this test with the wiper blades pulled back from the windshield in service position so as not to scratch the glass. So with the increased drag from the wiper blades on the windshield it would probably bump the current draw up a little bit. _________________ 1965 Volkswagen 1500 Variant S
