When adding caster shims or have a adjustable front beam do these tabs need to be removed?

If you want to correct the steering shaft to steering box alignment. You have to rotate the steering box. Those tabs will prevent the box from rotating on the upper beam after a caster shim install.
Good Luck.

Hi. Might it be more prudent to modify the clamps instead of grinding on the beam?
Hope this helps, Bill.

I don't recall making any changes to the box or beam when I added the caster shims. (and that photo looks familiar)
