In looking thru some insurance auto action sites saw this.. Not having a good day. These are the first buggies I have ever seen on this site. Not a good sign.

Not a good sign of what? What do you expect? A 1500# open vehicle against an average 3500# enclosed vehicle. Someone is gonna lose, and it's usually the lighter of the two. Happened to one of our own here http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=417683&highlight=tjkustoms

Well said.
Any "incident" in a buggy is about the same as a motorcycle, to be avoided at all cost. Sometimes it happens.

I hate to see these cars being totaled by insurance but on the bright side perfect candidates for someone looking for projects or parts.

A dune buggy is the safest motorcycle you'll ever ride
