Hello Gang,

I just purchased a very nice, 25K-mile original 74 Ghia coupe from the second owner. It's a super nice, and remarkably solid car that has never been fully restored. It still has its dealer-installed air conditioning which blows as cold as my 2008 Mini!

We're going to be replacing the cracked dash pad and facia to tidy up the interior, and I also want to replace the rear parcel shelf. Currently it has a tan shelf that matches the seats and carpets, but I was not sure if this was correct - I only ever recall seeing black or white. The door tops and window surrounds are black, so it would make sense for it to be black. But I'd like to make sure I get the correct one.

Any insight from the gurus out there? Thanks for the assistance.

I'm by no means a super guru but
It's probably supposed to be tan. I only see black and white aftermarket ones.

Check the classifieds here for a mint 74 coupe and private message the seller.

Also probably matters what color combo you have.

You can search the galleries too. Search ghia coupe parcel shelf.

I have a convertible so I can't for sure say.

This is simply a guess, mind you, but ...
I would think that just like the dash pad, the rear parcel shelf covering would have originally been black regardless of exterior/interior colors.
Any other color used for either (particularly the lighter colors) would be more likely to reflect on the glass in an annoying way.
