hey guys i was puting a new bowden bracket on because i noticed the old one was broken on one side and hanging. anyway I now cannot engage the clutch and shift into gear. When I attempt to shift the gar just jerks and stops. could it be a sensor or did I do something to the control arm for the throwout. Any advice would be much appreciated.

It is all about the bowden tube flex/length/no drag etc to get the clutch to release properly. No sensors as it is strictly a mechanical operation. The clutch/throwout bearing/clutch arm/clips/cable all have to match & be adjusted correctly to get good shifting! Twisted Evil

You more than likely just need to tighten up on the wing nut adjuster.

ok guys dropped the motor and everything checked out too bad it did not occure to me that it was the clutch plate rusted from sitting the last 7 months jammed up before I put the engine back on. Any methods that will save me from dropping the engine again to free up the pressure plate. I already tried to start it in 1st,2,nd,3rd, ect. Can I get more torque if I try to drive it from first gear and rev it up and down. any other ides would be helpful. thanks for all the great imput. I forgot to mention that I have been doing a lot of rusting and electrical and the car has been sitting. I got a new set of empi 34's dialed in and am wanting to get it on the road asap.

You get a 'do over' until you get it right. Wink Better to follow the Manual & not risk breaking the clutch/transmission? Mad
