Cut the center of the loop out of the hood handle and unscrew the handle halves? _________________

I've gotten lucky going into the backside of the apron if one of the access holes is missing, make sure the cable is pulling on the release.. Also try wiggling side to side, sometimes if there is no hood seal the hood can hang on the seal lip. Two people can help, one to hold the release and one to try the hood. Good luck.
Also, the above cutting the handle trick is a good last resort. _________________ https://instagram.com/mr.ogpaint

If the latch cover inside is not present you can usually snag the locking mechanism/wire with a hook tool with some patience but if the cover is there then just cut the handle in half and unscrew the 2 halves and buy a new handle... _________________ ::: Slowoval ::: LaDawri Sebring ::: '61 Creampuff ::: Dust Storm '66 ::: |

If it's like any other 55' I've seen, the spare tire well is rusted out. This provides great access to the hood latch! Jack it up and crawl under there and see if you can access the latch (if the spare tire isn't in there). |

Push down, pull up, wiggle side to side. Do all three motions at the same time. _________________ Roads Scholar &

Just a guess, as I've never done it, but im guessing you could bend the access cover out of the way, then use a long needle nose to activate the latch mechanism. The cover is held on by 1 screw, and a metal tab,and i'm gueesing it wouldnt be hard to move out of the way. Once inside, just bend the cover tab back into shape. Good luck! |
