Does the rim date stamp and the bus build date usually correspond? For example, my bus was built Feb 1972. Would my original bus rim been date stamped 2/72? Or could it have been 1/72, 12/71 or even earlier? Mine currently are 6/71 which seems a bit older than I would have expected.
The reason I am asking is because I am trying to get my bus back to as correct as possible.
Thanks. |

6/71 is the 72 model year, so I would have to say it's about right.
I could check my 71 s/c that still has the original spare _________________

Thanks for the correction. I used to be a nice guy, then I ruined it by exposing myself to the public. |

Since it's the date the rim was made it's usually about a month to 3 months previous. It could be more though. I researched this as it applies to 914's but they were made at Karmann so it could be different some. I wouldn't think the rim should be later than the bus. |

As I recall, all of my wheels were date stamped a month to two prior the Bus's production date. _________________ Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2006
