This is not a feedback thread. I tried to locate a link to Gary LeBlanc at suburban engine for another thread here but the webpage is gone and other than old Samba threads there is nothing recent. Did we lose Gary and his shop as a potential type 4 engine builder on the East Coast? Anyone know? _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

Thanks for the correction. I used to be a nice guy, then I ruined it by exposing myself to the public. |

I tried search several different ways and got no hits. Glad you found it. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

I picked up my engine from him 3 weeks ago. He was cool, and busy! I left a few parts there and he shipped them my way last week. Gonna work with Randy in Maine hopefully soon to build it up. I was planning on texting Gary soon for my core refund. He's been great with replying
Requested mine with no paint _________________ 1979 Mexico Beige Westy auto

That's odd, I wonder if the bottom ones are in. How do you warranty against leaks with the customer putting in the parting line bolts?
Notice how the through (big bolts) bolts have sealant on them. Use sealant when you install the parting line bolts and torque to spec in a cross hatch pattern starting from the middle.

The through bolts are in now, were not in on the picture, obviously. I just talked to him today. Said the website host was too expensive so he needs to find a new one. _________________ 1979 Mexico Beige Westy auto

What does he charge to build a type 4 if he's provided with a good core? _________________ Contact me at [email protected]
