So I have been trying to track down a wiring problem in my van. Upon starting my van every thing is fine. But I have two problems that arise while driving.
1) when I release my e-brake my turn signals no longer work. The light in the dash will come on but they do no flash. I do hear a clicking on the solenoid under the drivers seat.
2) when I turn on my head lights or hazard lights I loose my water temperature and fuel gauges.
Any thoughts? |

Sounds like a ground issue. Check the ground trees under the dash drivers side. You will see two brass fittings with many wires connected, make sure each wire is firmly attached and that no wires have worked themselves free. |

YES! that is highly likely the problem, might add that you can remove the ground cluster, clean it up shinny, clean up the body panel under it shinny and reinstall, plus clean the wire end connections. if the wires to the end connections are bad lloking you may elect to install new ends on clean wires. note also the headlamps ground here too, they draw a lot of juice and if the connection is not good, can cause the whole ground cluster to over heat, causing corrosion and loss of spring tension of the connectors (one good reason to move the head lamp ground points up to the front grill area, shorter path for the wires, and you can individually ground each lamp instead of running all the lamp current thru one wire to under the dash, I did that when doing the headlight relay upgrade. the ground change improved my headlight brightness as did the relay. I had newr a volt drop just from the stock ground set up!
