I pulled my dist. drive part way out to turn it one tooth. The washer spacer went down in the engine. Can I get it out without a tear down? Can I get it out if I pull the oil pump? It is a 36hp. Engine is not in the car. thanks Jim

The fuel pump is off and I can`t see it. Washer is down in the bottom I think.

You'll need to pull bakelite-type fuel pump base out if you want to fish it out that way. Buy an extra base, as they get fragile over time and can break.

OR: pull drain plate/"filter" out. Might be able to fish out with a magnet on a bent arm.

Best,

Thom

Good news , the washer did not go down into the engine. Seems the starter jammed up on my engine tester.
