Can I put 1958 and newer rear brake drums on my 1955? I know my 55 has oil slingers and 1958 does not have them. _________________ Buyer pays actual shipping from 73010, unless the ad says "shipped". I will gladly combine shipping on multiple items. I prefer to ship to US only. I usually ship via USPS, additional insurance is the buyer's responsibility. |

AFAIK the outer edge of the drum won't fit to the 1955 brake carrier plate.
BUT you can cut/mill that outer edge on the Okt/1957 drums so they fit.
I purchased my rear drums at the dealer Bernd Gerhards in Neuss/Germany where he offered in 1992 these ready modified 1957-1967 drums and they work like a charme on my Febr. 1955 model.
It has been a long time but AFAIR the difference is like shown below:
