|
|
So my inner rocker panel on the drivers side just forward of the rear wheel has about a 12" section that needs replacing (outer rocker is solid). I've been searching and found threads that say the best action is to remove the outer rocker and then do the inner and then replace the outer...
But if it's just a 12" section on the inner that's comprimised, would it be easier just to remove the weak section and weld from under the bus?
I would post a pic but I won't be near the bus for a while...thanks! _________________ Subaru |

It is really hard to imagine how you might do it without removing and replacing the outer rocker as well. I guess if you could post that picture it might help.
I am in the process of doing my outer rocker which btw looked fine with the exception of a couple small holes. When I removed it, the backside was covered in rust and it was just a question of time before a hole came through somewhere else. A great way to ruin a new paint job.
If you do go the route of doing outside rocker then I would strongly recommend getting the gerson panels. I'm really happy with the quality and fit of mine. _________________ 1972 Westfalia - 1.8 VW in-line h2o conversion
