I stopped by Fast Auto Salvage (FAST) in Duarte, CA yesterday to get a few Vanagon parts. FAST has 7 Vanagons in their lot in different stages of parts availability, but there is a lot there. All of them are square headlight Vanagons, no engines or transmissions to be seen, nor were there any syncros. Several sets of later front hubs still there, and from 2 of the vans you could assemble a left side weekender setup with the collapsible table, rear seat and 2nd row collapsible seats which go up against the front seats - all in color of grey.
The guys who own the place are great, and let you pull the parts - most are quite reasonable! Their Phone # is (626) 357-3361.

There is a guy across the street from Fast.... Russ's Recycling is pretty good on prices too.
I have used both of them...

| I had first pulled into Russ's Recycling before going over to FAST. Russ's no longer has any Vanagons or parts and is not going to be bidding on any at auctions any more. I used Russ's a lot also in the past. |

Just tried to buy swivel seat mounts, guy couldn't be bothered to grind out the spot welds even though I was the only customer. Whatever 
All of the vans are in rough condition, most were fire cars |

That's only an hour from me. Dang, too bad they don't have any more vans.

| Give interatate VW a call, they had at least one vanagon a month ago when I called. |
