rear frame part question

this part of the rear frame that the body sits on ... can this be purchased or does it need to be fabricated? both sides it's very rusted. my body guy said fabricating it would be pretty time consuming

also not sure how much the floor pan install is impacted by the rust issue here

hmmm. it's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks "patch-able." that's what i did with mine.

I believe that the Thing uses the same chassis as a Karmann Ghia, check on line sources for Karmann Ghia rear chassis supports, or failing that, locate a chassis that one could be cut and then reweled into your chassis.

I believe that the rear section is about 2 inches longer than the one used in a Type 1 / Bug.
