So I am using 914 seats in my Porsche powered VW van project. I have seats with the rails fitted but not sure how to normally attach to a 914 so I can replicate. Are there runners that I need to buy that I need to weld to the van fllor to replicate how they fit in a 914? |

Not sure if the van has the same seat channels on the floor pan as a ghia but i had a 74 ghia and i wanted 914 seats in for a roadster feel so i took the sliders from a ghia doner base and had a machine shop weld on top the 914 rail pieces and it worked great. I still have the bases in my basement if you want a picture (i dont have the car anymore or pics of them in the car unfortunately). PS i did it this way because i didnt want to weld or drill into the floor pan. It was a good idea because when i sold the car i just put the stock seats right back in without altering the car itself. |

914 seats came with a subframe that allowed one to raise front of seat as well as slide the seat. You can take off the 914 sub frame and the sliders and substitute universal hot rod seat sliders (EMPI even makes them).
