How can I tell who makes the alum block in my beetle? Any tips on identifying displacement or manufacturer. It has a stamped 7 on the split in the case.?. Please help. Jay

Welcome, what's cast or stamped into the sides of the sump each side? How about at the base of the generator/alternator stand?

Nothing will tell you displacement, dismantling and measuring is the only sure answer to that question.

There are no markings below generator stand like ae or ak it is blank. There was a glued on metal stamp the size of a nickel that said void if removed. Any ideas? Jay

None of the aftermarket aluminum cases will have a number stamped below the gen stand. What is stamped on the side of the case below the push rod tubes.

On one side of case it has the vw stamp with 000.101.101D. And on the other half it has vw and audi emblems with 2BR. And. 22 000.101.102. Any ideas?
