CSRA Airheads - ride & cruise-in (May 2016)

By way of introduction, the "CSRA Airheads" is an air-cooled VW enthusiast group mainly comprised of folks living in the Aiken SC/Augusta GA area, with some members in Columbia SC. Our owners represent just about all vehicle types (classic, dune buggies, rails, trikes, bajas, kit cars), and gather with a common interest in preservation/restoration, sharing knowledge, and participating in local events.

We have (2) events coming up in May:

#1 = Cruise to Clarks Hill Dam at Lake Thurmond

When: Sunday May 1st, departing at 2:00 PM (sharp)
Where: meet at Walmart parking lot on 1041 Edgefield Rd {aka Highway 25}, North Augusta SC
rain date: cancel if rain forecast

#2 = Cruise-In at the Sno-Cap Drive-in

When: Saturday May 21st from 6:00-8:00PM
Where: 618 West Ave, North Augusta SC, http://www.snocapdrivein.com/default.aspx

For all of our events, first order of business is to have fun, patina is welcome...a little rust never hurt anyone! Below is a picture from the Peach Parade we attend each year in Trenton; lot of good-looking VWs in the sun.

Tis the rainy season around here! Once again, gonna have to reschedule on account of rain, 80% chance Friday & Saturday for our Sno-Cap Cruise-In.

Next event on the calendar:

Ridge Peach Festival Parade folks contacted me and requested we bring the VWs out for a 6th straight year to ride in the 46th annual parade! Check their website at www.ridgepeachfestival.com for more information about the craft festival/music/food.

The parade starts at 10:30 on Saturday June 18th; a group of us will meet at the Aiken SC Home Depot to drive up together (pull out at 9:00 sharp). Or, you can meet us there...just go to Ebenezer Baptist Church in Trenton, on Wise Street and they will point you to the line-up spot.

Don't forget to pack to some candy to throw for the kids along parade route. This is always a fun event and I hope to see you there! [email protected]
