Sure check it out, and see if you can put me in contact with the owner. I live in Coweta near Tulsa, and familiar with the Durant and Sherman area. I worked in Durant back in the 80's -------- before the big casino down there.
I doubt if I would pay $500.00 for it but may take a look at it, and see. I have a 71 411, and the spare parts it offers might be interesting. Bob |

Will do. I'll try and get by there in the next couple of days. Anything in particular you want me to photograph or look into? _________________ My Old 64 Field Find

Since I can't see the front on the picture, take a good look and the front, and the right side. I got the owner name off of Craig--it's Allan. Also check it out for rust. You probably know where to look. Oh, and check the trim molding that runs on the side from front fender over doors, and the back fender, I can't tell from the picture if they are still there or not. I sure appreciate it if you could do that. Bob |

Wish I had a spare million $ and a big warehouse. I would start buying these cars as they pop up if for no other reason than to preserve parts that would otherwise go to a crusher if the chassis are too far gone to ever drive again.
This is a 1974. That makes it a 412. It had bumpers that fit nothing else.....the dash was slightly unique i where things were but it will go right into any car. The rest of the interior was pretty much the same as other years.
The engine and trans if they are not locked up or damaged are worth having. Tihis car would be L-jet with a 1.8L. The low compression combination ran....ok.....but would run much better if rebuilt to com0ression comparable to the 1.7L and with a better camshaft.
Titan3C....the front and rear fenders will not fit your car in case you are womdering. Differnt headlights in front and different taillights in rear. Ray |

Yep Ray ---- There is some difference between the 411 and this model 412. I wasn't sure about the bumpers. I think they are a recoil style required in later models. There seems to be many common item though---like the windshield, and other glass. My thoughts are that if I can get the car for what I offer after seeing it I would then consider what to do with it. It may be worth tinkering with restoring. But as you say saving it for parts is not a bad idea. There seems to be a lot of these cars and enthusiast over the world that will be needing parts. Bob |

Yep! Good thoughts.
Some think the 1974 bumpers are ugly....mainly because they are larger.
I dont think they are ugly. I just hate the mounting system. The bumpers are aluminum. Ray |

It would be interesting to see if the 411 bumper mounts could somehow be bolted on to the 412. It surprised me when you said the rear fenders weren't the same. I figured the fronts were different. So looking at pictures I can see the tail lights are placed differently. On the 412 they are much higher than on the 411. But the lenses look the same to me. I'm just going by pictures though. The rear lenses on a 411 Variant look the same, and partly are. The section with the back-up light is the same, but the section that makes the turn to the side is not the same. The tail light lenses on a 412 variant are narrower. Bob |

You may be right we have had threads yhat batted ths one around a few times but I can't remember if we ever got a definitive answer.
On some models there is a definite difference between variant and sedan.....but cant remember if there was q further difference for 1974.
I can look in the books and see what part number differences there were and then maybe people can post pictures of those PNs. Ray |

Thanks for the pics! No tellijg on the engine condition but with type 4 cases that habe not been "bus" abused getting to be in short supply. ...the engine may be good for some parts. The two barrel hollie on it says a lot. Hard life.
Got all the glass and doors look ok.....but dang.....looks like it either had an accident and they cut out the front to replace it or they sold it to someone else.
It would be good for 300 to 400 if someone wanted to totally strip it to augment their parts base. Ray |

Thanks====I saw the pictures, and yes the car is not in very good shape Ha ha. Don't think I would like to start a restoration on that. There are a few salvageable parts that would be interesting. Thanks for taking your time and effort for the pictures. They are certainly a big help, and I was disappointed in the general condition of the car. Bob |
