Hello,
I hope a similar threat doesn't exists already and I also know about the topic with tons of vintage BD photos...
We have 16 diapostives ( it's the english expression for photos on a transparency which you can present with a projector, maybe reversal film or slide is the better translation (?) Smile )
So these diapostives were delivered to volkswagen sellers to show customers which accesoires and extras they could order, as it was told to me.
All BDs are 1950s or 1951s because they have no rear window and the sambas have a white roof.
I would like to know, if anyone else saw them, is able to tell me about how rare they are or give some history.
Thanks Jan

Neat! Probably had cargo doors on the other side.

I added three more photos.
Most of the companies are from Köln/Cologne or near of it, so it's possible that the slides were made by a local volkswagen dealer from Cologne...
It seems like the milk van got a window what is a bit strange, because there is no other bus with a rear window, correct me, if I am wrong.

VEB is also known as a factory of bikes, weapons and the beautiful Simson Schwalbe motorbikes, but that was in Suhl GDR Razz

If it had doors on the other side it would probably be a converted double door. Look at the B pillar, you can see the skrew holes for the upper hinge for normal cargo doors.

Passenger side reflector was introduced at 20-023750 (March '52). The bus has piano hinge vent windows, so definitely a '52.

I wonder whether this is an artist's impression or retouch as the rocker/closing panel inside the wheel arch looks wrong.

Does the steering wheel look odd?

I think it's a stock 3 spoke. The paint of the front doorframe (a pillar) makes it look odd.
But that panel sure is a walk through. no divider panel and the single seat back is visible.
There is a shallow indentation in the belt line, at the c pillar. looks as if it once had a sliding door mechanism or something, like the BOCO panel.
@56 samba. not all slides show 50 buses. the single cab (with the sales rack) was only introduced after summer 52. some of those slides have been used in official VW brochure 'Zweckvolle Innenausstattungen' and others are known like the Loden Frey and 4711 panel vans.
That's why I doubt that all the slides were from a local dealer.
Great stuff!

@53kombi and djfordmanjack, I am sorry, didn't noticed that, but you're right... Sad
I agree that the steering wheel looks like a four spoke but could be kind of illusion, as djfordmanjack already explained, but the spokes look so square that I would assume they used a non-vw steering wheel, probably Mercedes? There were enough cars with those...
I'm going to look through the other slides if there are any other odd things or if the busses are 52s Very Happy
Cheers

Bingo!!! This may not even be a walkthru. The lines on the steering wheel are added, the line for the seat stand added. I think all the areas that were to dark for real detail got artist's detail added. have doubt's look at the tires, mainly the tread. they look like tires from a comic strip. The bench seat could be so dark and partially covered the steering wheel in the real photo that the artist put the steering wheel in then had to make it look like a bucket seat so he would not have to redo the steering wheel..
