Hey everyone. I have always enjoyed hats, but feared that I would look kind of like a tool by wearing one in a time where no one else does. However, thanks to the hipster movement, hats are trickling into the mainstream, and I have took off running. I started with a simple flat cap, I am a large bearded fellow, so the flat cap I think fit me perfectly. Seeing as I work as a banker and am constantly in a suit, 3 piece or otherwise, it was only a matter of time until my desire to wear a hat spilled into my work life. Although I do not wear my hat while working, or in most indoor spaces, I found that wearing a dress hat such as a bowler with my suit in the winter keeps things warm, and since our lovely bugs were designed in the era in which men wore hats. YOU CAN WEAR ONE WHILE DRIVING A BEETLE! This new found freedom got me to take the plunge and shell out real money for a real bowler to adorn my head to and from work and anywhere i go inbetween. So lets hear it, anyone else a weirdo that likes hats? Or am I the only one? _________________ 1975 Beetle 1600dp 4spd Daily Driver.

Check this hat. Yes it's a dress hat but depending on where you are it looks nice. Most the only hats you see are the kind wore by shall we say simple people of the land, you know morons. trucker hats with motifs such as CAT or John Deere, giant American flags proclaiming to make things great again.
Truth be told I've got bunch of hats of all types including the flat hats and a beret for when I'm feeling European. Have fun wear the hat.

I have too many flat/driver caps too count. A few dress hats (short brim fedora, bespoke porkpie, flat top derby, a couple of summer hats). I blame the 800m Olympic champion Dave Wottle for my life time affinity for caps and hats. you really haven't gone full on unless you have a Harris or Donegal cap (ok maybe an Italian linen summer cap) and a bespoke dress hat of whatever style. Yes, I like hats. |

My dad wore a hat every day of his life, and I do, too. For cool weekend days or bad weather, a wool Hanna Hats cap from Ireland.
For cool weekdays, a wool fedora.
For the summer, whether work or casual, a straw fedora from Ole Hats in Old San Juan.

When outdoors, I will usually always have a hat on. I'm fair skinned and have a constant skin cancer awareness...especially in sunny SoCal. My hats of choice are the typical wide brimmed gardener variety or my 'dressy' Akubra Cattleman, the genuine article straight from down under...

because they make a mess out of everything. we shoot them here on the farm. kind of a fun game....as soon as the gun cracks, the resident hawk comes and eats said pigeon.
we have a couple of very well fed hawks _________________
