Eh, so are Vegas, Monzas, Yugos, Cavaliers, diplomats, &a whole host of other craptastic cars. Then again, who would have thought that cheap POSs like a beetle would be worth more than a lot of homes?

not sure how it is around the world, but here a vintage car is 25+ years old...

Topaz and Tempo are now next to american muscle car....

Good news tho, the subaru justy is now a vintage car too!

Our local "lost in the 50's" show always has a few jackasses in rusty 80's mud boggers rollin' through the parade. They tend to be more selective for the car show the next day, but this year I saw an early 90's S-10 Blazer n amongst some decent 50's cars. The blazer wasn't even cleaned up. Rolling Eyes

The Holley carburetor was a nightmare, so wrapped in smog junk that getting it all working correctly was darned near impossible. The thing pinged incessantly and I literally tried to kill it, but it just kept on running. I sold it in the late '80s, still with perfect paint and no rust.

I kind of wish I had it now, with a small block transplant!
Iron duke wasent the vega engine.

I am pretty sure that Chevrolet went to the cast iron block (aka "Iron Duke") after they finally gave up on the aluminum one.

Nope, they fixed the issues with the aluminum engine, which were actually more related to the brittle valve seals and tiny cooling system than the aluminum cylinders. The engine actually carried on in other GM models until 1980, three years after Vega production ceased.

Remember when people used to put the shopping carts in the racks in the parking lot? Me neither and it sure bugs the heck out of me that people are so lazy.

Remember when people were respectful and it wasn't all about them?
When there was no such thing as a comfort zone and we all shared everything? including the road?

Ha.. I hate that too... so much last Saturday morning on an early brew and rib run... I noticed the parking lot was full of abandoned carts.... d'oh! .
So figured.. the store needed some help.. Wink

I gathered up ALL the shopping carts..... in a line aimed perfectly.... and rolled them through the front door... stopping just shy of the internal Starbucks coffee crack station.

Picture 25 carts inside... and about 25 in the fire lane outside.... and some pissed off customers..

I went in .... found the manager hanging out with the cashiers.. .. . Mad
I told her that I just gathered up her carts.. for free.. .. and lined them up at the door.. she could handle it from there.. :fist:

Lazy people.. oh... how I loathe the.

Dont even get me started on the expectant mother parking spot...

The grocery store that I frequent has 4 spaces for grocery carts, 12 handicap spaces, 8 "with child" spaces & just added 4 spaces "reserved for military" spaces & add to that the 8 "seasonal sale" spaces. I told the manager that if they added any more reserved spaces that I might as well start shopping at the store across the street because that's the only place I could find a parking space. They reconfigured the parking lot & eliminated some of each & moved a few others around.

I respect them too but the first 1/3 of the parking lot is reserved for one thing or another. Then there's all the entitled a-holes that just park in the front of the store blocking the fire lane or entrances, usually the same worthless a-holes using their SNAPS card to buy their groceries. They can't afford food but they own the latest SUV or Dodge Magnum or Challenger or Charger.

one store fixed it around here...

you need to drop a 1$ to unlock it from the rack, and it gives you your 1$ back once you attach it back to the rack.

You're one of the reason society has problem... selfish people.

My wife was pregnant three times, and we used those spot every time it was possible when she was in the 25th+ weeks.

It was safer (she walked like a very slow weird crab), and saved her a little energy to manage to get the grocery done.

It's like the jerks who park in the handicapped spots because they borrowed granny's car and they hop out and about. I've seen it countless times and I've never seen anyone get popped for it.

This happens and I used to think anyone who looked normal must be a BS scammer until I found out there are a lot of people that look normal that have issues walking longer distances.

So I no longer judge someone in those spots by the way they look.

"Reserved for Military" though...
Why? I don't see any reason for that if your only thing is that you are in the military.

Yeah.. Im one of the reason society has problem.. d'oh!

That's hysterical.. Laughing

It literally burns me.. when people who think they are entitled to some special treatment for some lame reason.. especially some pregnant chick who cant walk and extra 60 feet.
Let me guess... yours was riding the scooter cart in the store too..

Society today in general is fucked... and there are WAY more problems than just some selfish people.. which I am generally not...
Who's more selfish.. me who parks in the Stork spot once a year... or those who bitch about no Stork Spot at all...

All signs are created because somewhere at sometime, someone, complained, was injured, was offended or was just plain stupid..or lazy

Its a courtesy to mothers to be.. no more or no less whether they were knocked up by the most recent one nighter.. or a mother to be of 10...

Its not a legal spot like handicapped or the Fire Lane ...so.. no law to enforce.
But the store can ban someone..

Handicapped and Fire Lane abusers piss me off as well..

99% of the time I actually enjoy the extra 100-200 yards to walk to the door from the dent free corner..
I guess Im selfish because I dont want dents in my vehicles?? Rolling Eyes
But if its not busy.. and the Stork spot is open... Im flying in... because I know.. . Ill be out before the next Pregasurus can crank her minivan wheels into the parking lot..

Wow... .. ^.. I'd take a shot you have no respect for the military ??

Ill admit.. most of the ones we have around here do say "Reserved for Veterans"

And the ONLY Veterans I've personally noticed using their spots are the older ones..

Lets just hope it wont come to "Reserved for Felons" someday.. Confused

IDK,

I don't give much time or thought to this reserved spot or that reserved spot. I've got other shit that's more important to worry about I guess.

I do find it ironic though that so many people get fired up about those "close" to the store spots being handicapped or reserved for this or that..

What takes my breath away is the flat out epidemic of fat or obese Americans who are more than likely the ones who bitch about having to walk an extra 10 yards to the store. Really? Is that extra walk going to burn an extra calorie you can't afford to lose or? And we wonder why (besides corporate greed) health care is so out of control..

90% of the time I see someone getting out of their car parked in a handicap spot, it's an obese person. It's sad to me that there are so many food addicts in this country these days.
