Posi - LSD options for MkIV Jetta

I'm looking for some limited-slip differential options for my '02 Jetta. I'm having a tough time getting out of my driveway in the snow / ice.

Also, what's best - locker or clutch type?

First thing that comes to my mind is a Quaife, not exactly a cheap option, but I can't imagine any LSD would be.

Do you have traction tires mounted? I think actual traction/snow tires would be cheaper and easier, and as a bonus, you get to drive on them and have that extra traction all the time. My Rabbit was unstoppable with 4 studded snows and the wife's mkIII Golf is darn near the same with her snow's mounted, not that we get much snow anymore.
