Please take a minute and explain the " posts " .
are they magnets ?
do you have to drill holes and then fill them later ?
Did you drill all the holes or use a punch ?
Are they called Kleikos ? ( spell ? ) _________________ 63 two fold rag

they are 3/16 cleco sheet metal clamps . they are spring loaded and yes you have to drill holes to use them . then just plug weld the holes I wouldn't do sheet metal work without them |

Clecos are on my list for the 66 project and possibly even for just the apron on the 61. Grandpa - look on Amazon and youtube. You can get kits reall cheap. Totally shocked that you didnt use them on your last project. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

Dude, I feel your pain. I too suffer from gout from time to time. I can deal with it in my feet. But when I get an attack in the knees. It's all over. I'm down for at least four days. It sucks.
Get well and work on your 67 when you can. It all takes time to complete.
I wish you well. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I can get a Cleico-like result using pop-rivets ...same process: line up the work, drill a hole, pop in a rivet ..etc. etc. And then, after most of the welding is done, simply grind off the rivet with a flap disk, and plug-weld the hole. Works especially well in situations where you can easily retreive the pop rivet stubs so they don't end up rattling around inside the body somewhere. Red-neck Cleicos, I guess .... _________________ "If you can't fix it with pop rivets, crazy glue and duct tape, or hold it together with zip ties, velcro or magnets, it REALLY is broken." |

Cleicos you can reuse there spring loaded so it brings the panels tight together and I can take the panel on and of for fitting without drilling out rivets and a kit costs about 20.00 or less but yes you could use rivets I have and don't think they work as well |
