Great week-long celebration of the vehicle designed & built by Bruce Meyers in 1964. Good food, and drink, great to see old friends, and to meet new friends
We will be going again this year. |

Usually the first day is about 25 - 30 buggy's of all makes. By the end of the week, 75 or more.
You do have to be a member of the Manx Club to participate and any fiberglass buggy is welcome. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

As others have already stated, if you would like to attend and participate in the event you must be a member of the Manx Club. If you would like to join the club you can sign up at www.manxclub.com or even at the event. While you don't need to own a dune buggy to be a club member, if you participate in the club events you do have to have a street legal fiberglass-based dune buggy or one of the "historically significant' 1960's metal buggies.
If you were asking about just coming by to "see what's going on", the best time for that would be the Show-n-Shine car show on Saturday morning in front of Kitty Hawk Kites (across the street from Jockey's Ridge). 8am-12pm. Additionally, there are galleries of pictures from each of the previous years at the event website.
All the details, including the planned activities, can be found at www.manxonthebanx.com
Lastly, the number of buggies in attendance has varied from year to year. The very first year there were ~25 buggies. We've had as many as 100 show up 2013. I've included a few pictures of the beach glamor shot (from each previous year). Not all attendees go out on the beach, but this will give you an idea.
We hope to see you there.

Weather permitting, on Monday after the morning meeting, I am going to make a Bee line for Ocracoke and have lunch at Howard's Pub, (or what ever time we make it there).
It is typically a long day resulting in making it home after Dark. But you will get to run the length of the OBX Islands, jump the free Ferry across the Hatteras Inlet and see the 1600's era town of Ocracoke. It is beautiful drive and all are welcome to join. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Early registration and shirt orders are now closed. Do not mail in any registration forms in as they will not be accepted. If you would like to attend the MOTB and you haven't registered, you can register on-site during the event at a higher cost. A lot of new information has been posted on the event website so please have a look. There are packing checklists so you don't forget anything, guidelines on what you can expect, and much more. The MOTB event website is here: http://www.manxonthebanx.com _________________ Bud (1Madmanx)

Have a look at the website for the most recent news and a "planned" headcount of attendees. It's going to be a party on the Banx!

My son and I will be driving from Upstate SC to OBX on Oct 14.
There are a couple other buggies heading up from central SC to WV and then cruising over with the Buggies to the Banx Brigade on Sunday Oct 11.
Check out the Manxclub page and there is a link for Buggies to the Banx. They will arrive OBX on Sunday Evening so you could potentially hook up with them. |
