It's a shame your not loading these pictures on The Samba Gallery, this Great thread is going to be worthless down the road.

Took the shell off for paint last weekend. I enjoyed the metalwork more than the body prop to be honest, the last six months have been a chore but I finally got there. Its now in the hands of someone who does some stellar work and my mind is at rest knowing that when I see it again it will look top notch.

On the fork lift ready to drop it down again.

There is no easy way for me to "steal" 100+ images from Photobucket.

Hi
Fubar is coming on fine, it's still at the paint shop and painted. I should be getting it back this month hopefully and then the assembly begins. Nearly every component is finished, gearbox etc is done, I've decided what interior theme , colour , material etc I'm going for too.

Had a bit of an accident two weeks ago and broke my collarbone so that's put me out of action and will continue to do so for another month or so. It's annoying that just before I broke it I was really getting things done but it could have been worse, I could have been in the middle of the final build and u against a deadline. I've taken the attitude that it will be done when it's done and I'm not going to rush it to get it to a show. Not bothered about that.
I'll update with pics when it comes back all shiny.

Cheers

Ps getting on with this kind of stuff in the meantime. Usual thing of blasting, flatting and filling track rod ends.

Holy crap, those impeccable track rod ends Surprised Awesome stuff, you really aren't leaving any stone unturned! Your thread has become my go-to manual on how to go about a resto the right way, so i'm grateful that you have taken the time to keep up the insightful posts.

P.S - sorry to hear about your collarbone, that is really unfortunate. Hope you get on the mend soon!

OCD is a funny thing. I just call it standards and I'm not letting standards drop. Every part has to be 100% right. Not looking forward to the wiring!!
Thanks for the comments 😀
