Ben you mean late 51 to early 53 pop outs, right ?
The 50-51 ones are different yet.

Yeah that's what I meant on the pop out latches

I know that the dashpod and the dashpod holder are early ones but i think i can modify them if i dont found someone who wanna trade with me.

I´m happy that i can use later pop out latches and windows, i have more of them Laughing

trade for dashpod and the dashpod holder is possible ?

thanks

Nice, did they actually chop the front off in the forest before you recovered it!? Kids smashed the windows in mine, but that's fairly normal for kids around here! You seem to do very well finding parts, those doors look great. I will also need a dash pod support, it was cut out of mine and replaced with a later dash,I do have a pod tho. When do you plan to start welding?

Yes, they put the front off before we save the Barndoor.
Now i could buy it for €2000. They said if i dont pay this they sell it to someone who build a new Barndoor with the same id number Laughing

I must finish the sshool and my 57 SC first but i wont to bring this one on the road again as soon as possible Very Happy

No, because its not real to build a car only with start with a front and a little plate what is riveted.
There are many gus with perfect metal skills out there, but i cant´t belive anyone ist so stupid to build a car with this hot parts.

(They stole the id tag what is riveted in the engine bay too, so they have the same body number what ist stamped in my frame.)

This is a later case stamped with the original Dec '54 number, as the 1956-61 stamp set was not yet in use and the case has the threaded boss for the filler tube on the generator stand.

Yes, I think you are correct.

According to the Engine case production date thread
I read that date as 8th day of the 6th month (June), 2nd shift(2), 1955(5)

Font is more round, isnt it. The '0' is a giveaway.
Seem to be a few re-stamped cases around. You have to be careful.

I think this one is a restamp

I get this 54 dash pod with the same yellow colour as my Deutsche Bundespost Barndoor has!

The speedo from this pod is dated 9.54 and my bd is 10.54.

And the condition of the speedo say: please let me die in the forest from what i come from.

Very Happy

Good score on the correct colour speedo pod - it's interesting to see the deterioration on the speedo too - the back looks pretty good - like a completely different unit!

Cheers,

I don't know but I would say Yes.
Reason:
My '61 Double Cab, which uses the same sort of Barndoor-style latch, has these too:

Maybe the color difference is Barndoor vs. later Double Cab latches?
The later ones have slotted mounting holes. Look at the right side of the photo I posted above.

The two holes next to each other frames were used partway into 1954,
The later pop out frames were used from mid 54. I think the change VIN is listed in PR or an early parts list.
The frames Brian posted are earlier and different.

The little spacer plate with 2 holes is original
