So now it is time for rebuilding the brakes.
One brakedrum was not willing to realese from the shoes.
So I borrowed a tool to take it off,
And Im going to "cut" (I dont know the real name for it in English) the drums and media blast it Before i do that and som satin black powder coating.
And get new linings on the brake shoes and grind them to the drum.
Realy nice drums so just a slight touch on them.
And my dishwasher got some brakeparts Clean
And I pulled out the bearings and one off the "new" bearings was damage.
And I rememberd that in the mot papers it sayd nois right front Wheel
in 68-70.
And here is the theaf of the noise.
He replased the bering in 1964 and in 68 he rebuild the brakes and they probably damage the bering _________________ 52 bug

Not realy but I blasted my brakes and left them to a brake specialist that machined the drums and relined the shoes.
And the footstep on the drivers Side was totally rusted so I got rid of that and
I might need to do some repairs under it was a little bit thin.
Or I just rust profe it for now and put a new footstep on and do it correctly some other time.
I don't wont to tear it apart.

That would have been a nice deal for 2000:-
Just need to have more time to get it on the road. _________________ 52 bug

Nice split ... love the fact you got to talk to the previous owner.
Of 70% of the cars i own, i bought them from the first or second owner.
Call me emotional or whatever but i always wanne find out where it came from. Changes your look on the car ... makes you appreciate it more. |
