well the bus is total ratlook down to the bumpers that have peat moss growing off them , i mean where do you get that at a paint shop..It looks great and runs awfully ok.
today dec 13th was The first major adventure trip in the bus since july. The trip was to drop off some very large windows to habitat for hummanity, what a great store..and go see someone about painting the side so Joel went along for the trip..
I loaded the bus full of windows
and we made it to the habitat
This habitat store is just great what a selection of stuff.
the bus hauled the 600pds of windows even went up shawns hill and accelerated there.
however the habitat said theses were to old for them, pretty strange , I mean free windows who does not take that.. i still have them
here they are, If you need some windows for your house, garden shed, or garage , these are perfect, there interlocking double pane, there is 4 full sets here. The frames are stainless they never rust or rot, the frame for then is easy to make.
I'll drop the windows off for gas money to help you with your project if your interested in them just ask.
check them out, the cooler is for sale too

Found some old pics of the bus at the niagra show and are trip there, possibly first selfie circa 2002
the canadian bug show at the college beside vw canada before they closed, have the dash plaque to prove it
and the before and after pic of when it was restored in 2001-2002
Also the time my neighbour had a vw get together and bbq
currently looking for a dormobile top and the correct interior to complete it.. _________________

Hi,
I just bought this 68 vw westfalia that is a walkthru and only has an original 7000miles on it. It looks like it needs some frame work and the lower 6inches. Do you think i should part it out or restore it as i'm unsure.
I priced out fixing it and it seems like a great idea but then again that is a lot of work. looking for input how rare is this bus? Is there other 68 walkthru westfalia busses out there that are solid and don't need all this work? or even a decent solid body shell to transfer all the hard to find parts too. It is one of the first baywindows the door handles are wrong on it..

So, you're telling us that the Dormoblie in that pic is the same bus as your Westy? Post a pic of your M-plate, I think there's a YouTube video on how to do that. _________________ __________

well ,
hmm..
if you were paying attention on page 4 ..
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5...p;start=60
I parted out the blue westfalia with 7000 miles on it to build the silver bus.
At that point i went to look at the silver bus and bought it and started building it. Since then the thread has been about that bus and the videos too..
The silver westfalia is the same bus as the dormobile
in fact it shows me as the owner in the sellers package by the ont government twice thanks

I don't normally smoke however the trick to defrost the window quickly is to light up an incense, cigar or cigarette close to the windshield then let it burn for a few seconds and it will defrost window quickly..Only after like 2 puffs of the smoke it defrosted it I only had to use a card to scrape the window a small amount. it gets trickier as it gets colder only -5 right now _________________

I tend to use the factory defrost, never an issue. _________________ __________
