been awhile since I have felt good enough to work on this
the guy who did the roof graft set it up to have a headliner in it so he didn't complete certain parts of it
but since i'm doing a camper interior in it and these parts are going to be seen I have to fix them
first issues was the difference between early '60 and late '60/'61 pressings above the doors
I didn't like the option of having to cut out and replace the whole section so I modified it to blend into each other
this is what I start with
first I welded the flat part up to the bend
then I bent the metal to match the front part welding it as I went
also had to even out the top so it was level then I just gently hammered the rest to blend into each other
still have some work to do with a die grinder and maybe some all-metal but this is good enough for now will complete it when it comes time to do final paint job
also had to complete the weld on the b pillar from the graft

Pretty cool bus if you ask me. Awesome skills on that bed. Can't wait to see the interior finished _________________ Hi! I am Peter from Czech Republic...

since physical therapy has been going good I have been feeling good enough to work on this again within limits of course
over the last few weeks I have spent a few hours trying to get the beam out
it fought me every part of the way though since it had never been removed before. even the drag link was the original style with the grease fittings on it and since it's stuck on the steering box arm which is also stuck on the box itself I guess it's coming out next
old one out ready to be used as trade, the new beam will be a 1 ton with drop spindles and adjusters

slow progress is still progress. I hate working by myself. I do much better with company, any company really. _________________ regards

haven't done much worth posting lately mostly part collecting
I did get a 1 ton beam with all the goodies I was missing
since I like the look of the early center section and I had to cut the beam anyways to clearance the center block for the adjusters I mated an early center section with nates beefcake adjuster to a 1 ton outer section with good roller bearing and a nice set of trailing arms
also picked up a set of 1 ton dropped spindle rebuild by greg (campingbox) that I will be installing soon along with all the brake parts _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

Got my wagenswest bolt on irs kit with adjustable springplates and e-brake adapters
Also got some KF pressed bumpers, brackets and a '58 decklid to cut a brakelight into since the brakelight ones are out of stock everywhere infact this was one of the last 3 flat decklids i found
Of course Princess Zora has to inspect all parts shipments for quality
Also found some smal spoons latches at vintagemeet and some other chrome goodies
Got several sets of pop-out for super cheap locally and out of all 10 of them i think there are enough good pieces to makes 6 nice ones
May have to cut and splice a few of them together though _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

over the winter did a lot of small things to the bus that really weren't too exciting
after coating the insides with POR15 I stripped and paint the decklid
rebuilt and painted the steeringbox
polished my new spoons latches
first time on it's wheels in over two years, garage door was broken so I couldn't push it outside yet
finally got the door fixed a few days ago and rolled it out today for a bath
have to raise it up since it's rubbing on this side pretty bad
after an hour of trying to mount the decklid since the new nut plates I made had some issues in their new home I realized I put the hinges on backwards oh well it has to come back off to fix all the mounting issues anyway
since I had to moved the bus to fix the garage door properly it's just a roller at the moment, most of the suspension will have to be taking apart again and set up correctly but it should be easier the second time _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

Front--3.5" drop spindles and beam adjusters, the rest is stock 1 ton set-up
Back--IRS bolt on shackles with adjustable springplates, the rest is stock thing expect for the modified small nut bus drums
Rims are stock bus with 195/50/15 and 205/60/15
Needs to be raised up a bit, the tires are slightly rubbing on the doglegs _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

Did you use woodworking clamps to put them together? Your bus looks super sweet! I just spent 8 hours building and installing popouts and safaris in my bus. _________________ Anthony

No I live on an island and couln't really find any good ones for a reasonable price
So I wrapped some furring strips with shop rags then used some rackets straps over them _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough
