The big "Time Machines 2013" antique auto show & flea market (generally regarded as CT's second biggest antique auto event) will be happening this coming Sunday, July 28th, 2013, at the Guilford Fairgrounds in Guilford, CT.
As usual, there will be an "all VW" class within the car show, for all VWs, stock & modified, this year up to and including model year 1988, which again is sponsored by Common Gear Antique Volkswagen Society. The event runs *rain or shine* and the hours are 8am to 3pm.
I've taken the liberty of scanning all sides of the official flyer for Time Machines 2013, and will also incorporate these and other images related to Time Machines 2013 (including post-event reports, results, & more photos from show day) into this dedicated thread.
So, please stay tuned, and plan to be in Guilford with your antique VW on Sunday, July 28th, 2013!

Also wanted at this time to talk a little bit about the Time Machines 2013 artwork proof for our special "VW-only" dash plaque & artwork source.
As we also usually like to give out special magnetic-back commemorative dash plaques to the participating VWs in the Time Machines event, we will also present here a copy of the "artwork proof" of this year's dash plaque, as well as the original source for the unique Beetle illustration chosen for this year's plaque--from a CL&P (Connecticut Light and Power) 1965 brochure that apparently advertised Davella VW's use of their energy to heat the dealership (we assume, anyway?!). Regretfully, I don't know where I ran across this brochure originally, but the artwork is unique, cool, and old-looking, and with Davella being such an old and historic VW dealership, originally located in nearby Meriden, CT (now long since defunct, unfortunately), it seemed like an excellent choice for "Time Machines 2013."
As noted, we will be handing these commemorative VW dash plaques out to all participating VWs at Time Machines 2013 this year, Sunday, July 28th, 2013, at the Guilford Fairgrounds, in Guilford, CT. The "VW-only" class at Time Machines 2013 is open to all VWs, stocks & modifieds, up to and including model year 1988.

I know that it's probably just the way the artwork worked out, but those do look like '67 headlights, don't they?!

We were super pleased to be able to be sponsors this year also for the CVA "Volks-Meet," which was a great day in Westbrook, this past Sunday, July 14th, 2013. But also wanted to highlight the prodigious amount of cool stuff that came in the CVA car show's goodie bag, including a Time Machines 2013 fllyer, and also a listing of Common Gear Antique Volkswagen Society on the official sponsor sheet--thanks again and great job CVA!

Weather is looking like the Guilford curse will continue but at least it will be a late day rain (after the show is over). U haul has aggravated me for the last time so by the end of today my new (smaller) trailer will be ready to roll and then we will start packing/ planing. It will be an interesting load to see going down the road.
Should be interesting to see how many street rods show up as the show has always had so many great ones. |

The Guilford Curse! Argh! It's a rain or shine event, so I will certainly be there no matter what, Clay!
I'll stop by your space at some point to see what-all sorts of treasures you may be bringing along. New trailer too? Good for you!

Steve, we had a great time there today! Glad I have my new dash plack for coving a small imperfection on the dash. Plus my son was able to get some more chevron cars at the flee market. we weren't able to find any on our trip to FL since they don't make them anymore.
