DISCLAIMER: This is a Volksrod Build/Restoration. If you don't agree with Volksroding please stay out and keep your comments to yourself. Thanks!

In the other hand, I Decided to start a Build Thread here so people can comment, provide ideas & constructive criticism.

My name is Gus "Goose" and this is my first Bug. But not first VW, (had a Custom 95' Jetta). I Currently have a Custom Chrysler 300C and 2 Custom Honda VTX 1300 Cruisers. Cruisers will be 4 sale (SOLD) to satisfy my new addiction of Volksroding.

Im in the works of getting a gutted 65' Bug and work with my uncle in converting it to a Volksrod. Some of the plans are as follow (not in order):

1) :sawzall: Chop 4" all around.
2) Put in an Oval rear window.
3) Extend the front 8".
4) Drop it some.
5) Big rear tires, small front.
6) Custom Paint (color TBD).
7) 1600 engine made to 1915cc
Cool ....

And as you can see... Have fun while doing it all.

Then drive it like is hot.

Nothing is set in stone. So, Im sure there will be plenty of changes along the way.

Here are a few pics.

And the FUN Begins! (FYI, tack weld only) I will align the roof pieces better once I cut the filler pieces.

Great JOb so far! Looks like you actually have some funds here to do the build instead of the usual brokeness. I'm going to keep watching!

Thanks!

Its all at the expense of the bikes. Wife hated them, so I used it as leverage to fund the Volksrod. I told her I would sell them if I could use that money for the car Laughing . She rather I do the car than ride the motorcycles.

Very nice build, I like the idea. You wanted some constructive critasisum. I like clean lines, is there something you can do to get rid of the handle on front. Either just take it off or maybe do a French cut of some kind. With all the work you are putting in it just makes since to make the front your focal point.
Just a thought, keep up the good work. Will be watching.
