Good luck with your issues, man.

Hey, in the nature of gathering more information about our champagnes, do you care to decode your m-plate and post it? If not, would you mind snapping a pic of the m-plate with all the numbers and sending it to me? I'm compiling pictures and build dates of champagnes

Well how on earth are you going to take it to an all aircooled show? Very Happy

I was able to get a pic of my m plate by holding my phone up in there. Took a few tries to get it aimed right but was able to get a readable shot.

Header wrap helped my engine bay temp as well. Worth the upgrade in my opinion.

Wrap is on. Gonna wrap the exhaust manifold but I need to get some safety wire. Has Anyone used safety wire to secure the wrap on?

I've used a stainless hose clamp in a pinch.

Took the BVR to the all aircooled gathering in Flanders NJ. Had an awesome time. Let the kids run around it was an awesome show! The exhaust wrap and and engine sealing made a huge difference in cabin temps!!!

Been going through templates and I'm so low that I cannot get a scoop under. Trying to run ductwork from the front of the bus is almost impossible w/ my height of the beam. There is a hole where the heater tube goes through that I tried to use today but really how much of that 3" of air going to remedy the situation. Thinking about coming off the sides. Getting an oil cooler. Bigger thicker radiator or run the rads in the engine bay.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it to you or not but I installed an oil cooler and while I never had any overheating issues I found that it helped especially on long climbs. I run one off of the oil filter stand. A Volvo sandwich plate with the cooler mounted underneath out by the entry scoop to the rad. Oil temps are never higher than 185 even on the hottest of days.

I wonder if the fact you are so low it is restricting the air flow?

As one of the newest converts to be sold on under-bus radiators, I am afraid that you are really going to struggle with cooling with as low as your bus is. There simply isn't much room!

You might have to have not only the belly radiator but also engine compartment radiators too, all plumbed in series. The engine compartment doesn't see lots of air flow being forced through it while driving, it seems that the engineers were relying on the vacuum created by the fan to get the air in there. Look into a pair of those clear plastic "Earz" (I think that is what they're called) to turn them into more of a scoop and push air through the radiators.

Another idea I kicked around but didn't really try was a couple motorcycle radiators up front somehow hanging from the beam. It seemed like to me that area probably has a good deal of air flowing through it.
