I can't wait for this event to get here. It is going to be one of the biggest VW shows on the West coast, since the Southern California Bug Ins from the 80s. There are people flying in to this event, from all over the world. There is also many racers that are towing their race cars from the East coast and Texas just to race at this event. If you haven't decided to go to this Bug O Rama by now, you should make plans to. |

red roof inn on olsen and zinfindel is 60 bucks for a nice King room. I stay there all the time. dont let the rancho cordova address scare you. Starbucks is next door too. |

I stayed at the Mariott back in May, it's a nice place... no, it's not Motel 6 cheap, but it's worth $100 a night. VW people truly are some of the, eh, most "frugal" of car enthusiasts..lol.
Otherwise, camp at the track. You gotta deal with the loud partyers, stoners and drunks, but it's cheap! |

Just posting some of the many things I saw at the Bugorama today 9/2/12 bright and early. Memo to self: next time bring S U N S C R E E N ! ! (just a pastey white boy) Jason (TRM) was there, the swap meet was way more than I had expected, so I need to be better prepared the next time.
Drag qualifying was cool, the assorted wheel stands, mad hornets sounds, blown engines, and some squirrelly driving. Apprently yesterday a driver lost it and knifed the car on the guardrail and flipped... short stay in the hospital banged up but OK.
Here's the pics... not bad for a iphone.

I had a great time out there today! It was great seeing the cars screamin' up the track. Anybody see the kid smack the wall at about half track? It was good to see that he was ok, and the car looked fixable. I managed to hit the swap meet, and got some much needed fuel system parts. One step closer to having the 65 roadworthy! |

Made it saturday night with 40 minutes to spare... Camped out, walked around the pits and took some shots of the guys working on their cars, meet a couple cool people, walked the swap in the morning (it was a huge swap), checked out a lot of nice VWs in the show area and took in some of the drags.
Was a very cool show!
I have a bunch of pix but this KOA wifi isn't the greatest, so I'll upload and share soon. _________________ In search of a Vanagon
