Anyone know what this hole is for?

It's in the chrome trim on the top of the door, there's one at the other end too.

Trim held in place by large headed brass screws at regular intervals. The trim where the larger slots appeared were placed over the screws and the trim slid sideways over the screw heads to be held in place where the trim slot narrows.

Sorry Joh, but I don't mean the slot, if you look above it, you will see that there is a threaded hole.

Hi Paul,
Best i can tell from the pic...
John is right, his comment reflects correct installation. It looks like your previous owner failed and used screws to hold the trim down. There should be no screw holes in any of the door top/qtr window chrome.

Please help. I know this part belongs somewhere in the steering mechanism at the top under the steering wheel. But where?

My car is '68 RHD coupe.

I just posted on your thread..but in case you check here first, it's the turn signal cancelling ring...mounts to the bottom of your steering wheel base.

Thanks. It makes sense and explains the note I made 2 years ago when I took the car apart. I'll reassemble everything tomorrow.

It is the turn signal canceling ring but it appears to have been modified/cut to adapt to something.... rubbing problem maybe? Or to fit to a different steering wheel?

I recently took my engine out and this fell out from somewhere while undoing screws. I can't figure out where it goes or what it's called, any help is much appreciated.

in back (back = back of car) under the cylinder head tin. The threaded holes go up and your bolts go thru cyl head tin into deflector piece threaded holes. There should be one for each side L/R
Using your pic Cool

I think he should supply detailed fitting instructions with the mirror. Laughing

Hello everyone.

I been scouring this site and its been such a tremendous help.
I recently acquired @69 Ghia as my daily driver. I'm a huge newbie to all of this so I apologise in advance for some questions..
The previous owner put a 1915 cc engine with less than 2k miles on it. Looks like the car sat in garage for quite some time . Upon looking at the engine I was wondering what part is this .. The upper left hand corner at about the 10 o'clock position..

Thank you all

Hard to tell...looks like a previous owner opened up a port (removed tar board to cut) and attached white plastic covering it.?. If that is white plastic covering, have you opened it up?
