I didn't take any pics but the drivers side is almost done being welded in. Now I need to do the seat tracks.

This weekend I scored some parts for it.

The guy I buy all my parts from locally had the hood and windshield frame. It's been in an attic for at least 20 years. A little surface rust but otherwise very solid.

Also got this really cheap:

It's the lower portion of the nose. Hers is made of bondo, duct tape, and plywood.

Did you get that windshield frame and hood from Mark in Woodsboro?

Well, it's been a long time, but:

I welded the seat track in and coated the top of the pans with 2 coats of Masterseries. The bottom comes next. Also going to put a 3rd coat and some seam sealer on the top.

Much improved over where it started.

Thank you. Right after I posted this she finally picked a color for the engine.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

RAL 1001. It's a beige. She want's the car teal, and since it's from Hawaii originally, would like some sort of beach theme to it. So, next week I'll start blasting and powder coating engine parts.

Thank you! I've been looking everywhere for a pic of a beige engine! Shannon is a very visual person. I'm looking at doing some teal accents and found a candy teal she likes.

I was proud, yesterday she picked up the grinder and helped me paint when we got it clean.

Well, it was finally warm enough, and Shannon and I were motivated enough to work on the Thing some more. Painted the 1st coat of MS on the bottom.

I like it. I'll show her. Her pulleys are going to be the color the gearshift is. Should be a good contrast.

Well, I got it running again. I'll post some pics later. I fixed a bunch of issues while it was apart, and rebuilt the distributor. The weights were sticking.
