When I was on my way home, I encountered a problem...after switching from high to low beam on repeated ocasions...i noticed that I no longer had a functioning low beam, so I hat to come home with my high beam on
what could be the problem? |

Start by checking the ground for the switcher relay.
Take the brown wire off of relay J2 terminal 31 and check for continuity to ground.

Thanks for the journey. If it wasnt for the newer cars & the GPS on the dash, you could be driving in 1970's. Well done. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

I tried paint a couple of times on VW mufflers, but it just gets burnt off.
I am wondering if the thicker paint actually makes it worse... the hot side against the metal will expand at a different rate than the outside surface, and this will cause cracking and flaking. Also, it insulates it, so the heat can't escape as well. I am thinking the thin primer-like paint VW puts on it is the best that can be done-- the flat finish presents maximum surface area for heat dissipation, and it's thin enough to not crack.
Any other ideas? |
