I haven't seen a correct repo here nor there worth purchasing yet but I'm sure it's in the works. :) |

im sure if you lok earlier on the post you will see
i made a design for this stripe and already sent it to someonewho ended up makin a couple of them and sellig them on ebay, i got nothing not even a set
i can look if i still have the design and my friend has a 24" viny cutter
we just have to fnd a correct Kind of vinyl |
Avery or 3M
I could make one at work or any of my customer could make me some.
But I suck at AI somewhat better at corel but I suck as graphic designing period.
I started last year making the file but gave up after many hours trying to get the curves to match and getting frustrated.
I think I need some else to sit down in from of my car and do it for me. I might have someone but its not on the cards atm. |

I have redesigned my original to include the longer line on the bottom of the C to come closer to the wheel hub & extended the inner negative stripes to match the pics. Also changed the front tip to a half bullet nose. Contemplated copying the "type3" as it is in the pic but I think these would have been hand cut originally so this would explain the variations between the brochure & the final product so i'm sticking with my original with some minor tweaks.
Got a guinea pig for the first set on the way & i'm sure there will be pix posted so you can't decide for yourselves whether it is purchase worthy.

you got a file I can look at?
I can measure it up against mine and give tweaking it a crack and send the file back to you if you like.
I can also do a template out of paper and compare it to the car. |

I'm doing some body work now to the FB and then paint. As soon as it's finished the stripe goes on and pix go up. |

make sure you wait a while like a month before applying it on fresh paint.
adhering things to new paint can and often does cause issues with the paint underneath. Luckily with VWs there isn't anything thats adhered to the paint except for this exception. |

Sorry for the delay typ3nut - the other side
The front of the stripe stops before the trim....application error? The brochure seems to have the stripe all the way to the end of the trim. Then again, as you can see from the condition, it might have fallen off! At least the PO used a paint brush at paint around the other side so as not to go over the stripe.
Vlad01 the car is similar but I think your's is in much better condition! |

docker,
Thanks for photo of other side. Spacing between stripe and letters seem consistent with other photos posted. Nice ! |

Ok had a look at them, just from memory there is some work to be done on your stripes.
all the curvy corners? well the OG has chamfers not radii, few other bits look wrong to to me also.
None the less its a great starting point to work from. |

yours and mine are the exact same car from what I can see except for the condition and wheels obviously.
yes the condition is good, with a buff its shinyer than any new car I have driven. The paint back then, although it was terrible at rust protection it was very durable long lasting finish that is easy to polish, even 40 years latter. |
