This is the jack in my beetle, not sure if its the correct one for the car.
Also i have always wondered if it has a special place to be stored or it right at home floating around in under the bonnet.

Not the best pictures

Did any of the jacks come with a straight, unbent rod for a handle? I have found a couple of them and wondering if they were just from something else?

Thanks

I got this one two days ago.
Can anybody confirm this is a 1949 VW jack?
No VW sign on it.

The black I had before.
Would it be pre 1949?

I would say your black is 1948-49 (the first beetles with square jacking points) and the "brown" is updated version for 1949-50.

I noticed the Bus jacks described in this thread were wrong for 64-67.
I added the 64-67 style Bus jacks to the first post in this thread.

still incorrect.

the size of the indents on the peg are different. also, the bay jacks have a tang to keep the peg from pivoting all the way up.

note the two styles in this photo: late split bus on top, early bay on bottom
