Hey reggaeman_br, I am VERY interested in that particular Cosmic logo for the caps. Do you know anywhere I can get them??? I have searched and searched and searched and I cannot uncover anything on them. I was curious about the fully-polished cosmics. And I steered away from them and got the detailed cosmics for my Thing. I now wish I had got the polished set. But any help you can offer on the cosmic logo cap would be appreciated!!!
Thanks, Dakota. |

Here are some picture's of the Cap. As you can see the cap is smaller then the hole and use's this metal clip ring that keep it on.
ask you can see the cap dosn't set flush with the rim. It sticks out about 3/8".
Here the clip and cap.
The rim has a lip that the clip set in.
Here's some porsche stickers I found. This will have to do for now till I figure something out that works and looks better.
Not bad, but not great. The stickers are UV rated so they should last a while.

Good job on the stickers. I like it. Did you have to modify(beat on it) the dust caps on the fronts to fit the wheel caps? _________________ Serenity now! |

For the sticker - Thanks. I think that my eye was use to seeing some kind of logo in the cap.
Dust cover - Back when I installed the dust cover I had to beat it on, So it was already flatend a little when I installed these wheels. I'm not sure if a un-beaten dust cover will work. But I think there will be plenty of room for a full dust cover and speedo cable nipple. I'll take a look and see. |

As I suspected there is plenty of room. Even if a flush cap was mounted there would still be about 1/2" from the inside of the cap and the top of the dust cover. |

Jeff at The KaddieShack has the 4-lug Cosmo/Cosmic wheels... they look different than the 5-lug though... he had, may still have, an ad in the classifieds... they're not shown on his website yet, but I just ordered a set from him and he said they were in stock... _________________ you can find me under a Dub...

Update. Took my wheel off to have some Porsche cap cut for the wheels. While the wheels are off, There going to do a special treatment to make them look vintage, but not old and dirty just right. I'll post up pics when there done. While the wheel are off, I decited to rock my smoothies on the driverside (still have the BRM on the Pass side).

Thanks 54ovsemi. The beam is narrowed 4" with shocks. The tires are all Continentals. The fronts are 165/50R15s and the rears are 205/65/15s. I'll probably go with 215 in the rear when I burn through the 205, I have room for 215 and I think it will fill in the wheel well better. As for the wheel I'm running 15x5.5 BRM on the passanger side and the new wide 5 15x5.5 cosmic on the Driverside. The wheels are off getting some machine work done on them. So for now I'm running my smoothies. I should have my wheels back fromPIP soon. I'll post up some pic ASAP. |
